Optimism, Resilience, and Infertility-Specific Stress during Assisted Reproductive Technology

Background: Infertility generates high levels of stress to women. The aim was explore optimism and resilience among women undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART). Method: Participants were recruited in a private fertility clinic. sample consisted 229 under medical treatment for who completed the following self-report instruments: sociodemographic clinical questionnaire, Resilience Scale (RS), Life Orientation Test (LOT-R), Perceived Stress (PSS), STAI State Trait. Results: Our data revealed that associated with reduced psychological (β = .02, p .001, 95% CI [.34, .13]). A significant negative correlation between perceived (r -.320, .001) found. Conclusion: findings highlight protective mediating role when are confronted effects infertility diagnosis (ART), therefore potential utility reduce infertility-specific stress.
